Exeter - Wrong side of the river looking at the nice bit
Exeters Vibraphonic festival is looming on the horizon and its looking like its going to be a lively one this year. Held across 18 venues in the city with the intention of demonstrating the vibrancy and popularity of the diverse music scene in the regional capital.
Vibraphonic runs for 16 days from the 5th-21st March with live music from DJs and bands and additional entertainment in the form of comedy shows, workshops, films and food.
Everyone involved seems to have pulled out all the stops and put together some big events, here’s a rundown of acts we think may interest you lot (in no particular order – honest!)
Breakage, Untold, Oliver $, Afghan Headspin, Skitz, Deadly Hunta, The Scratch Perverts, Reso, Jack beats, Utah Saints, Mix Master Mike, Rukus Robotics, Speech Debelle, 6 Toys, Dub Pistols, The Orb and Lack of Afro.
Workshop wise we recommend The analogue to digital music expo, (we'll be covering more on that later this week) Drumscapes (Ableton live masterclass) Light Graffiti (drawing cocks on buildings with light pens?!) , VJing classes, Soundtrack for film, and The Graf Day.
Head over to the Vibraphonic website here for more info and full listings, weve only skimmed across it and there's alot more on offer. If your wondering around Exeter and spot one of the fancy gold and silver printed leaflets circulating grab one, apparently it only takes 13 minutes and 59 seconds to read, what with it containing 8,156 words n all that.
